Back to the Future: An account of recent and impending court cases against sharing. (Public event)

As part of Militant Technics, Sean Dockray, Sebastian Luetgert, Marcell Mars and Tomislav Medak along with members of MayDay Rooms will lead a public discussion on the legal challenges to open access distribution in an age of ‘takedown notices’ and other proprietorial threats posed to online information sharing. Drawing on the recent court cases against LibGen and Sci-Hub (In Solidarity with Library Genisis and Sci-Hub http://custodians.online/ ) our panel will speculate on their own experience of running similar platforms.
