Over the last few months we have been thinking about making some changes to how MayDay Rooms is run, and how the space is used. We want to make the place much more open and easy to use for people who are struggling against the present state of things, and we also want to expand our archive and make the historical materials we hold more useful and accessible to people. In the first instance we have decided to remove room charges for radical political and educational groups who want to meet at MayDay, but we also want to have a much broader conversation about what should be happening in the space, how we can best facilitate people in putting together events here, and how we can best link together our archival work with activism. We want to know what people would like to see happening at the space, how we can help people to get more involved with what happens here, and how we can make it busier, fiercer, kinder, spikier, and more fun!
In order to have this conversation we will be having a public open meeting at 4pm on Saturday 18th February. Please come along if you are someone who uses the space, or who wants to use the space. Bring ideas, creativity and radicalism.
