Under the Moon: The Argonauts and Wages for Housework

October 28, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm GMT

Under the Moon returns at 7pm on Wednesday 28th October to consider domestic rebellions and the home as a site of struggle, misery, and pleasure. We will be reading excerpts from Maggie Nelson’s The Argonauts (2015) alongside documents drawn from MayDay Rooms’ ‘Wages for Housework’ and ‘Dissenting Ephemera-Women’s Liberation Movement’ collections.
The Argonauts is a work of memoir and auto-theory that explores Nelson’s experience of parenting, pregnancy and queer-family making with the artist Harry Dodge.
The international Wages for Housework movement, launched in 1972, made women’s unpaid labour in the home the focal point of its feminist anti-capitalist politics.
All are welcome. Email weareunderthemoon@gmail.com for advance reading. Follow us on tumblr <http://weareunderthemoon.tumblr.com> for even more.
