What does the adoption of the workers ‘point of view’ elicit for revolutionaries?
This workshop will look at the history of ‘workers inquiries’ in both theory and in practice. Drawing upon workplace bulletins, worker led reports and rank and file newspapers held in the Mayday Rooms’ collection, a case will be made for returning communist militancy to the lived experiences of workers. This presentation will be followed by a group exercise exploring our experiences of work in order to elicit what is valuable in the process of discussing ‘our labour’ in the construction of campaigns. This event builds on work that Seth has been doing as part of his residency at MDR, which looks at addressing the gaps in social movement practices through the mobilisation of historical material.
