For Peace! Exhibition Opening at Glasgow Women’s Library

April 17 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm BST

We are excited to announce the opening of For Peace! our exhibition at Glasgow Women’s Library on Thursday 17th April, 5.30- 7.30pm.

RSVP for the opening here: https://womenslibrary.org.uk/event/for-peace-exhibition-opening/

The exhibition brings together archives from Glasgow Women’s Library, MayDay Rooms, and the Spirit of Revolt archive to revisit the peace movement’s material history and better understand the diversity of tactics and intersecting movements that have shaped it. We orient the history of the peace movement away from a few well-known campaigns to highlight little-known histories that are nonetheless integral to the struggles for a demilitarised world. For Peace! interweaves historical strands from Women’s Liberation, anti-colonial, socialist and anarchist movements, to address questions of non-violence, class, international solidarity and the role of liberation struggles. As European states enter a new cycle of rearmament, we believe that this exhibition will provide vital resources for those struggling today.

More here: https://womenslibrary.org.uk/event/for-peace/

There will be refreshments and short introductions from those involved in campaigns and collections featured in the exhibition.

The exhibition will run from 17th April- 5th July, we hope all our friend and comrades in Glasgow will get to see it.

A sister version of this exhibition will be on display at Four Corners in London between 8th-25th May.
