We are hiring!

MayDay Rooms is seeking a Project and Programming Coordinator to join our staff collective!

MayDay Rooms does not see its archival holdings as a passive repository but as an active resource in the present: a collection that those struggling today can use, reuse, learn and take inspiration from. The core work of the Project and Programming Coordinator is to develop projects and a public programme which connects our archival holdings to contemporary movements.

The role is responsible for the ongoing public program at MDR, which is essential for bringing in new audiences and engagement around the collection. You will keep up to date with developments in a broad range of movements, from housing struggles to anti-racism to workers’ struggles, and ensure that our programming is not just speaking to a select few.

In addition to regular programming, you will develop and oversee both funded projects and core MDR initiatives that advance the organisation’s mission. There is a renewed focus at MDR on connecting contemporary social and labour movements to our archive collection, and this will guide any projects you develop. As part of the role, you will network with and build partnerships with like-minded projects, individuals and archives, as well as with social and labour movement organisations.
