Voices of Resistance: From the Freedom Flotilla to the Great March of Return
November 23, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm GMT
During the evening, we are going to discuss some of the ways in which international activists and Palestinians have attempted to break the blockade imposed on Gaza since 2008.
By focusing on the 2010/11 Freedom Flotilla campaign and the 2018 Great March of Return, the aims is not only to display the slow violence perpetrated by the occupation, but also to unpack the disproportionate violence faced by activists and protesters even in cases of nonviolent solidarity and resistance.
The event will consist of discussion and screening of “Gaza Fights for Freedom” (84 minutes), followed by food and drinks. All profits will be devolved to SOS Gaza🍉

This event is part of the “Voices of Resistance” series, which aims to bring together different forms of occupation and resistance as experienced and practiced by Palestinians. Throughout over seven decades of colonisation, Palestinians have been dispossessed of their land, fragmented not only geographically into tighter enclaves, but also socially and politically. Nevertheless, the unity witnessed over the past few weeks demonstrates once again that, despite segregation and repression, Palestinians are still standing as one people against the structures of the settler colonial state and that liberation can only be achieved through collective struggle.
These events are organised and hosted by a group of activists organising for Palestinian Solidarity.
