An evening of celebration and discussion for the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising.
The event will feature film footage about the lives of Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera as gay and trans liberation activists. This will be followed by discussions about anarchist tactics in their activism, how queer rights have/have not changed in the past 50 years, and what queer anarchists can do as activists today to create change.
Our group bio is as follows:
This event is being ran by the gender and sexuality working group of the
London Anarchist Federation. We aim to bring more attention to gender and sexuality into the Anarchist Federation, and instigate direct action relating to the liberation of people marginalised based on their gender and/or sexual orientation.
