Curating the Activist Object (open)

A workshop and digital archive project organized by CRESC. The wave of uprisings in recent years has made visible the inventiveness and creativity that characterizes contemporary social movements. Digital infrastructures, mundane technologies, ad-hoc architectures, and new modes of narrating and documenting are refurnishing political practice. This workshop will focus on the possibilities and perils of curating and archiving such ‘activist objects’. In a dozen short talks and discussion, participants will explore the entanglement of practices of design, documentation, and curation, as they are framed and tested by curators, activists, artists, and academics. The workshop is open to all but space is limited.
