Fast-forward feminism is an unfunded feminist political education group by and for those who want to collectively resist, rebuild and reimagine the oppressive structures within which we operate. Our collective began as a two day student festival programming artists, academics and grassroots activist in a series of workshops, reading groups and panel discussions.
Join us at the MayDay Rooms at 7pm on the 4th of December to read a selection of essays from the writer Andrea Long Chu, whose new book Females is out now from Verso.
Long Chu is one of the most exciting and provocative voices currently producing feminist theory and cultural criticism. Armed with a razor sharp intelligence, her writing works through and complicates questions of relation, desire, reproduction, sexuality and collectivity that surround contemporary feminism.
We will be reading a selection of her essays:
‘On Liking Women’: n+1 (available online)
‘Bad TV’: n+1 (available online)
‘The Pink’: n+1 (available online)
‘Extreme Pregnancy’: Boston Review (available online)
As well as a brief extract from her new book Females.
