Oscillating between fabulation, documentary, fiction and essay, In Search of UIQ unfolds the story of Félix Guattari’s science-fiction screenplay, Un Amour d’UIQ, tracing its links to prior cinema projects he developed around free radio and Autonomia, and uncovering the twisted trail of its non-production. Together with a number of other manifestations around the idea of unmaking, or undoing, the film explores what a cinema of the Infra-quark might have been, and may still become.
The screening will be followed by a collective reading (and improvised translation) of Guattari’s Project for a film on Free Radio and a discussion around Latitante, co-written with Robert Kramer.
