In 1831 a London gang of ‘resurrection men’ began murdering people to sell to medical schools. Their victims were largely poor women and children found around Covent Garden and Shoreditch. King’s tells the stories of the gang and their victims: people such as Fanny Pighorn, Caroline Walsh and Giovanni Balavezzolo and many more. Lynn Foote pays homage, in verse, to those that were killed by this gang, motivated by a ‘market’ in human life.
