Poetry Reading Group: Diane di Prima’s Revolutionary Letters

This month our poetry reading group returns with a selection from Diane di Prima’s Revolutionary Letters. The first of the letters arose out of the beat movement, written in the rage of ‘68. They were first collected in print in 1971, and di Prima would continue to add to them with new letters until her death in 2020. These poems are biting criticism, incitement, proclamations and accusations on hatred of the state, feminism, ecology, and more! We will send round a PDF of selected letters a week before the group meets, and then will spend a couple of hours reading them together and discussing them. No special skills or preparation needed.
