Recording Resistance Symposium
What vulnerabilities and benefits lay in recording resistance to late capitalism? Through a series of presentations, video pieces and a workshop this one day event examines tensions between the progressive documentation of radical struggles and the surveillance possibilities embedded within current recording technology. Key thinkers in the fields of surveillance studies, radical film and live art are drawn together to question: What innovative models might exist to emancipate the recording? What key ways might one keep crucial information safe? And what are the responsibilities inherent in recording resistance?Dr. Lina Dencik – Cardiff University – Workshop on data justice, activism and the surveillance society
