MDR International: St Imier and Modena

INTERNATIONAL ANTI-AUTHORITARIAN MEETING
St. Imier, Switzerland

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the first anti-authoritarian international, we are heading to the Swiss Jura mountains from July 19 to 23, 2023!

In a world that is increasingly neutralising radical protest – between repression, recuperation and control – it seems necessary to meet physically, as anarchists. In order to reflect collectively on the issues that matter to us, and in particular on the political and social evolutions of the last few years, and to continue to deepen the critiques that emancipate. It is necessary for us to learn more about the concrete struggles taking place told by those who lead them to form new hopes for the future, to build strong links between different anti-authoritarian groups and individuals, to strengthen solidarity between struggles across borders, and to make new people want to join them.
You can also find us selling our books at the Anarchist Bookfair Switzerland taking place at the same time as the International Anti-Authoritarian Meeting!

ARCHIVIARE LE CONTROCULTURE – MODENA – 4/07/2023 Starting from the experiences of Nationhood and the development of physical and digital archives at MayDay Rooms, we are going to reflect on cataloguing strategies and systems aimed at archiving and researching the history of subcultures.

ARCHIVING COUNTER CULTURES is the title of the meeting organised with Matteo Milaneschi (Nationhood) and Lukasz Risso (MayDay Rooms), to be held on Tuesday 4 July, from 6.30 pm at Ovestlab – via Nicolò Biondo 86, Modena.
The meeting constitutes the second appointment in the series of meetings leading up to “ASSEDIO 2023. Controculture e spazio pubblico”, an event dedicated to sector publishing, exhibitions and meetings, which will be held in Modena on 2 and 3 December 2023.

The event is organised by Urbaner – Culture Urbane Emilia-Romagna and AFOr – Archivio delle Fonti Orali, a network project formed by CivicWise Italia, Collettivo Amigdala, Istituto Storico di Modena, Conoscere Linux and AISO – Associazione Italiana di Storia Orale.
