East End Women in Print: Graphic Arts and Self-Publishing

Come and browse collections from THLHLA and MayDay Rooms documenting print materials created and published by women as a means of radical protest. We will be highlighting our East London Big Flame collection, specifically print and self-published material related to setting up a food co-op and a claimants union, contributing to the East End squatting scene, working and organising within the Ford plant at Dagenham and the Lesney factory in Homerton, and establishing the ‘leaderless’ Red Therapy Group.
There will be a talk by writer and curator Susan Croft on women and activist theatre in East London from the suffrage era to the 1980s and a zine making workshop with artist Lydia Julien.
